Position Summary: The Certified School Nurse, Registered Nurse (RN), is responsible for coordinating, collaborating, planning for, and, in most cases, providing direct services to ensure that the school district’s health program, as defined by the state’s School Code, School District Policies, and the state’s Dept. of Health Division of School Health Regulations is carried out according to the specifics
of the law.

of the law.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive school health services program
- Provide direct services to students
- Performs and/or oversees mandated screenings and completes referrals
- Medication administration
- First aid and emergency response
- Preventative care
- Documentation of all services
- Collaboration with all school team members
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
- Current state Registered Nurse license OR Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice
- Department of Education certification (if applicable)
- CPR/AED certification
- Experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a related field (Preferred)
