Position Summary: As a school physical therapist, you’ll support students with disabilities or injuries by assessing their physical abilities and providing interventions that promote participation and success in school activities.
Responsibilities include:
Providing specialized services to students with disabilities or injuries that impact participation in educational activities
Assessing students' physical abilities to support access and engagement
Developing individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
Implementing interventions to improve motion, mobility, and school participation
Conducting assessments
Managing adaptations and equipment
Using best practices to enhance students’ physical functioning
Developing IEP goals and objectives
Creating fitness and wellness programs tailored to students needs
Delivering quality, personalized, and evidence-based therapy
Consulting and collaborating with school team members
Documenting therapy sessions and monitoring progress
Qualifications:
Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
Certification from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or eligibility for certification
State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist
