Position Summary As an Emotional Support Interventionist, you will provide direct, intensive support to help students develop the social, emotional, and behavioral skills needed to respond to their daily environment in a practical and productive manner. Emphasis is placed on meeting each student’s current needs while collaborating with teachers, instructional staff, and school teams to build strong support systems that foster growth and resilience.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing appropriate behavioral, social, and emotional intervention strategies
Organizing and facilitating daily group activities focused on social-emotional learning
Selecting and utilizing treatment materials appropriate for assigned age groups
Collaborating with Emotional Support Teachers, Instructional Assistants, and professional teams
Assisting in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Supporting crisis prevention and intervention strategies using approved techniques
Collecting and documenting data to track student progress
Contributing to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Juvenile Justice, Social Behavior, or related field (Preferred)
Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (Required; 3 years preferred)
Experience working with students with social-emotional or behavioral needs (Preferred)
Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis management skills
