Overall Purpose of Job: The HR Generalist is a key member of the HR team responsible for supporting a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, staffing-related compliance, policy support, HRIS administration, and HR operations. This role also provides day-to-day oversight, guidance, training, and workflow coordination for HR team members responsible for onboarding, offboarding, credentialing support, and employee administration processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and workflow coordination for HR team members responsible for onboarding, offboarding, employee administration processes, employee file updates, incentives, reimbursements, and benefit changes.
Support the administration of benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of HR information systems (HRIS), including employee data, benefits administration, and compliance auditing.
Serve as a resource for employee relations, advising on matters such as performance management, workplace grievances, and organizational changes.
Assist in ensuring compliance with state and federal HR regulations by helping to update internal policies and procedures as necessary.
Track, analyze, and report on key HR metrics, including turnover, retention, onboarding effectiveness, benefits utilization, compliance status, and employee engagement trends.
Help develop and maintain key HR documentation, including employee handbooks, organizational charts, and directories.
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining personnel policies and procedures, offering guidance and clarification to support business operations.
Execute additional responsibilities as delegated by management.
Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and culture-building initiatives that align with organizational values and business objective
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
Prior experience providing guidance, mentoring, training, or oversight to HR support staff.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and federal/state employment laws.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of cultural awareness and emotional intelligence.
Experience with employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding processes, compliance, and HRIS administration required.
Knowledge of credentialing, clearances, licensure tracking, or employment compliance requirements in educational, healthcare, staffing, or regulated environments preferred.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and attention to detail required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS platforms, with a willingness to learn new systems as needed.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment required.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing vendor or partner relationships, including contract oversight.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing culture-building initiatives.
Proven ability to manage and oversee complex administrative projects.
Experience in educational staffing, healthcare staffing, school-based services, or another regulated employment environment preferred.
Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
